Hi there,

Ubuntu 10.4

I have exactly the same issue as described in paragraphs 1 & 2 by the
op, except I'd be lucky if I get it to go for 10 seconds. I had to do
the install several times to get past the region selection screen
because my mouse would freeze up (it moves about half an inch before it
locks up) and sometimes my keyboard would repeat the first letter I type
continuously. Then the entire install would lockup and I have to restart
the PC.

Unplugged my mouse and did the install with a PS/2 keyboard plugged in
only. It started up into GNOME and the same issue persisted. Tried a
wired and wireless USB mouse, tried wired USB keyboard, wired PS/2
keyboard, wireless keyboard with integrated mouse. Same issue all the
way through.

Installed Ubuntu 9.10 and NO signs of the problem during setup or after
install, works perfectly.

Motherboard: Intel Desktop Board D102GGC2 Rev 1.02
Sound card & graphics is on-board.

I am unable to get far enough to establish a wireless internet
connection for the apport command, so here's some other info which i
hope would be helpful.
