What i observe running lucid 32bit on a MSI CS110
http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=prodtmpspec&maincat_no=729&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=1604
is that approx. in 4 out 5 reboots i have this (?) bug.
Symptoms: shutdown is not possible, a lot of hardware not working properly
(e.g. an USB attached DVB-T receiver won't work, although dmesg says it got its
firmware and the proper devices in the /dev tree for the frontend got created).
In Gnome the shutdown-button applet is disabled , although if using the
indicator-applet it still shows a shutdown menu-entry (which won't work).
SInce in about 1 of five reboots this bug /does not/ occur i'm suspecting a
timing problem/race condition during boot up.
Inspection of dmesg syslog or boot log did not turn up anything noticable.
It worked just fine after initial installation, but Interestingly the bug
occured the first time after an update-initramfs ran in the course of system
updates.
