Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
The dialog "Failed to connect to server xy" appears although there is a
working network connection.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Close Thunderbird
2. Disconnect your network connection (in my case it is wireless)
3. Open Thunderbird
4. Expected dialogs "Failed to connect to server xy" - since there is no
network connection.
5. Click all the dialogs away with ok.
6. Connect your network.
7. Open your favorite website in e.g. Firefox - just to make sure the network
connection works.
8. Click "Get Mail" in Thunderbird.
9. UNEXPECTED dialog "Failed to connect to server xy" appears!
10. Click it away.
11. Clicking "Get Mail" again now just works fine.
All the accounts are configured with IMAP via SSL. Gmail and other
providers.
