Ok, done as requested and added the txt files you requested. I believe it is a JMicron SATA controller built onboard the ASRock 939 SATA Dual motherboard I have. The problem was fixed cause I had a similar issue earlier in the testing stage but it has reared it' s head with the latest initramfs and kernel updates.
I also find it annoying that alsa firmware has not been added to Ubuntu installations as a default so for something like the Echo Gina3G card, I have to manually build the firmware and then place it in the appropriate location. I downloaded the latest installation/live disk being the 7.04 beta that has just been loaded and although it boots into a desktop, still no sound and it also totally ignores my WD Raptor drive which is on the SATA2 controller of my motherboard. ** Attachment added: "dmesg" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6917458/dmesg.txt -- /dev/sdb3 failing to load with linux-image-2.6.20-12 https://launchpad.net/bugs/95040 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
