Please elaborate on the problem as you see it. You were able to hide
the xchat-gnome window previously? I don't use empathy so "just like
empathy does" doesn't really make your bug report clear.
Also, I tend to prefer that when I close xchat-gnome, that it actually
closes, so if you wish it to do this other behavior instead, some added
justification wouldn't hurt.
