Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mondo
When running sudo mondoarchive, it reports an error once it reaches the state where it builds the file catalog (or shortly after): boekh...@boekhold:/mnt$ sudo mondoarchive Initializing... See /var/log/mondoarchive.log for details of backup run. WARNING: Module loop not found. Checking sanity of your Linux distribution Done. ---FATALERROR--- The de facto standard location for your boot loader's config file is /etc/grub.conf but I cannot find it there. What is wrong with your Linux distribution? Try 'ln -s /boot/grub/menu.lst /etc/grub.conf'... If you require technical support, please contact the mailing list. See http://www.mondorescue.org for details. The list's members can help you, if you attach that file to your e-mail. Log file: /var/log/mondoarchive.log FYI, I have gzipped the log and saved it to /var/cache/mondo/MA.log.gz. Mondo has aborted. Execution run ended; result=254 Type 'less /var/log/mondoarchive.log' to see the output log Seems like it's looking for the grub.conf file in the wrong location. The text above suggests making a symlink, but I've seen reports on the Net that that will fail during a restore because it expects /etc/grub.conf to be a real file, not a symlink. ** Affects: mondo (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot create archive in Lucid due to grub error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/588343 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
