The above information was gathered while using Ubuntu 10.04 with the latest updates. The acpi=ht was added to the kernel. I would like to test the latest development release, but as this is a machine that I have to use on a daily base I really can't do a complete new installation and I don't have the space to dual boot it.
I tested the latest kernel (linux- image-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201005261208_i386.deb) which I downloaded here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/daily/current/ I did not experience boot problems when I used it. The only problems were: - Unable to use the NVIDIA driver (a message appeared after GRUB2 (missing driver?) and I had to use safe graphics mode) - udevd uses a lot of CPU - Once or twice I did not have Internet connection after startup ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing -- Boot problems without acpi=off option added to kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549687 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
