Leif, what was your pre-patch kernel? I'd be interested in a comparison with this kernel: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+source/linux/2.6.34-5.12
It is the same as my PPA kernel except for the patch, so we can look at the effect of just the patch. Also, I took a look at Lucid and Maverick's current kernel config and found that for both, -generic kernels on i386 have CONFIG_HZ=250 and amd64 has CONFIG_HZ=100. Seems like an odd choice to have two different values depending on architecture. It could be a mistake... Also, all the kernels have CONFIG_NO_HZ set. If we want to test different configs, I can set them up as flavours and do -100hz and -250hz kernels on my next upload. -- Tens of wakes per second in "[kernel scheduler] Load balancing tick" on Core 2 Duo even with only 1 core enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/524281 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
