I've referred a wrong bug number in my first post. It's the continuation of the bug #549035. Please let me know how can I provide more information.
So far, I've checked powertop (even it's for intel cpu) output, I tried both 32/64bit Ubuntu versions and both opensource/proprietary drivers of ATI video card. I can't figure out what is forcing a fan to start. Could it be just a bad threshold?.. ** Description changed: - This is a continuation of bug #576428 as requested. + This is a continuation of bug #549035 as requested. The fan starts every 3-5 minutues without real CPU load. I'm collecting all possible information and will attach it with my next post. - --- + --- Architecture: amd64 CheckboxSubmission: 64670df3fea108f6c6aefed109978ca6 CheckboxSystem: b62ae224500b03a9fc2c9b6caf3feb14 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100429) Package: linux (not installed) ProcEnviron: - LANG=ru_RU.utf8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANG=ru_RU.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash Tags: lucid Uname: Linux 2.6.34-020634-generic x86_64 UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare -- Loud fan with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64bit and ASUS K50AB laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/587196 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
