Fault verified as described above. Proceedure was upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04 via internet upgrade.
Details: Ubuntu 10.04 AMD 64-bit Toshiba A210 laptop Previous install 9.10, dual boot share with Vista. Mitigations tested: - login via recovery mode: fail - login via previous linux headers: fail - login via terminal script: fail (initial terminal login ok, activation of GDM *from* terminal results in this error - strange) Fault seems rather severe. Access to machine is available via VT only. GDM environment is down. Further suggestions for work-arounds welcome. I am now locked out of my main machine... Not a pleasant experience... I agree and would suggest the importance of thie bug should be elevated. -- Login failure loop with Ubuntu 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567029 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
