Public bug reported:

I've just upgraded from 6.10 to 7.04 beta, and any and all SSL
encryption has stopped working. I can't get to any secured web sites,
nor can I get to my email (which is encrypted with SSL as well). (And,
no, I can't get to this site either, which is why I'm posting this under
WINDOWS, thank you very much. Grrrr.)

The reason I say that things are not (entirely) working is because I can
get some text, but pictures are a complete loss. None of the
applications ever launch. For instance, trying to get to this site just
hangs, but if I try to go to my home web server, I can at least see the
text. If I try to use squirrelmail at home, I can see the login page
(but not the logo), but I can't get logged in. I also can't use my
company's Exchange server, etc., etc. This is borked in Firefox,
Konqueror, AND Opera, which I downloaded and installed. The same sort of
problem seems to be affecting Evolution in reaching my email (as I said)
with SSL encryption. It LOOKS like it's connecting, but the mailboxes
never actually update.

I'm new to Ubuntu, but not to Linux. I tried playing around with the
libssl0.9.7 that's available in the list of packages, but I didn't see a
way to switch things over to using it. I also tried to downgrade 0.9.8,
but, again, I just don't know how to manipulate dpkg into doing this, if
it's even possible. What I'm trying to say here is that I'm willing to
hammer on this setup to try something strange; I just don't know what
that would be.
