I have the same issue but with bzr (using ssh) under Ubuntu Lucid.

** Message: secret service operation failed: The name org.freedesktop.secrets
was not provided by any .service files
bzr: ERROR: gnomekeyring.IOError:

*** Bazaar has encountered an internal error. This probably indicates a
    bug in Bazaar. You can help us fix it by filing a bug report at
        https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+filebug
    attaching the crash file
        /home/LOGIWAYS/mfigueiredo/.cache/crash/bzr-20100603122523-2330.crash
    and including a description of the problem.

    The crash file is plain text and you can inspect or edit it to remove
    private information.

$PROMPT > gnome-keyring-daemon -f       # on a terminal, and then
$PROMPT > bzr push                                  # on a another terminal
works fine.
