Let me answer the different points :
- lubuntu-desktop use depends instead of recommends, because it's needed to
build the iso, and to use the --no-install-recommends. However, removing
lubuntu-desktop is harmless, it's only needed for upgrade from one Ubuntu
version to another, and to initially install Lubuntu.
- A minimal package will be created if you want only core package of lubuntu
(see bug 529593)
- lubuntu-desktop only depends on gnome-bluetooth now
- pulseaudio is not a depends of lubuntu-desktop. Be sure to install
lubuntu-desktop with --no-install-recommends.
- Firefox was removed, replaced by Chromium.
- The depends on language-pack-en was removed
- The depends on xorg-xserver-input-all will be removed in the next upload.
- Recommending others office packages will install 2 differents office suits,
which is not really good. You already have the possibility to install OOo or
other office suit manually.
