Public bug reported:
After upgrade from lucid to maverick alpha one .avi playback broken.
Reinstalled all necessary packages and plugins to no effect. When trying
to playback the first few seconds of audio play then a dialog stating
that necessary plugin (XVID MPEG-4 decoder) missing, after scanning for
said plugin it comes up with nothing. After saying that plugin was not
found it continues to play sound from file and display a visualization.
