Dear Mr. Nussbaum.
Thank you for your interest in the reported problem.
Your comments do not address that fact that the two commands
$ sudo apt-get install hpcc
$ hpcc
leads to the reported failure and error message.
At the time of my submission I had observed this problem on three
different machines (32- and 64-bit) all with fresh Ubuntu 10.04
installations.
I am going to change the ticket status back to 'new' and attach to it
output from apport-collect on a fourth machine, where I installed hpcc,
but no other MPI related package.
** Changed in: hpcc (Ubuntu)
Status: Invalid => New
** Tags added: apport-collected
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: hpcc
$ sudo apt-get install hpcc
$ hpcc
