Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: acpi
If I leave my laptop on with the lid closed for 2+ hours my cpu
overheats dramatically. This only happens when the lid is closed so I
suspect something with acpi is causing it. If I leave the lid open the
processor scales itself and my laptop runs relatively cool. After
opening the lid after having it close the processor does not rescale
itself and I have to either restart or manually scale it. I have not
done any editing of acpi settings so everything is ubuntu stock. My
laptop is a HP Pavillion dv5139us. AMD Turion64 is the processor.
** Affects: acpi (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
