Public bug reported:
After a fresh install of Feisty beta I was notified that for a better
experience I should enable the non supported nvidia driver for my laptop
(nice feature btw!) After the package was installed and I re-started I
was faced with a completely blank screen.
It should be noted that the screen seemed to power off (not just black
pixels). After modifying xorg.conf to use "nv" instead of "nvidia" I
was able to restart gdm and get the display back.
While the display was off, I could still here the gdm login drum sounds
and entering a user name and password continued to log me in.
