I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1501 with ATI Xpress 1150.

What a nightmare, didn't even know what to search for with this one,
"Ubuntu 10.04 boot videocard crash colored lines" finally got me to this
thread. I couldn't even get the boot options up before the crash, tried
the usual "esc", "ctrl+alt+F1", etc, didn't know you had to hold down
Shift now.

Hope we can get a proper fix pushed out soon; yes, one of us can hunt
down this thread and figure out what changes to make, but someone new to
the amazing world of Ubuntu probably wouldn't and we don't want their
first experience to be like this.
