Public bug reported:
With no apparent cause, when booting from time to time one gets a bunch of blue
pixels on top of a black background before arriving to the KDE login screen in
Ubuntu Lucid Lynx. Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart the k graphical manager has no
effect, even when it was previously activated for this distribution. Ctrl+F1
does not grant access to a console terminal. the only course of action is
rebooting. From time to time, this black screen with blue corrupted pixels will
be shown and the the login screen will come up, while other days it just gets
stuck.
The system is an Intel dual core PC with an NVIDIA 8400 GS series video card
and propietary current drivers, running a fresh install of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx
10.04 with KDE installed on top and a "Z X city" theme for the login screen.
