Now I'm experiencing a similar, but not identical, bug with the PPA package. I'm not able to reliably reproduce it, but when I'm shutting down, there's occasionally a louder buzzing sound (as opposed to a pop as before) that occurs as X is shutting down, but before the system has shutdown.
