** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: blender

+ (Blender 2.49b with Python 2.6)

- Upgraded from Ubuntu 9.10 to Ubuntu 10.04 (via Update Manager).
Problem wasn't present in 9.10.

- Whenever I manipulate vertices or whole objects with Rotate and
- Scale, Blender becomes slow/unresponsive and soon affects the whole OS.
- Once this even caused the whole Ubuntu interface to disappear, forcing
- me to press the Power button to bring up the Shutdown window and restart
- the system. Quitting Blender takes a long time (after Scaling/Rotating)
- and that also makes the whole OS unresponsive.

- Simply moving individual vertices or whole objects doesn't cause
- slowdowns/unresponsivity, only rotating & scaling, it seems.

- I'm sure this problem has something to do with my system being a

+ Update: I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 again and found out that it also
+ has almost the same problem now (must have been the fault of a certain
+ update) - scaling & rotating gradually slows down Blender and the
+ operating system. However, it's less severe. It never gets as slow as
+ with Ubuntu 10.04 and doesn't cause the GNOME interface to just
+ disappear.
+
+ Thank you.

The longer you rotate & scale in or out of Edit Mode, the more unresponsive and
slow Blender & the whole operating system become.
