@ Darko D,

I guess I should try a Wubi test on my own to be sure (I'd have to dig
out an old Win puter), but from what I've seen on the forums even Wubi
updates result in the suggestion to "install grub everywhere". Of course
in this case grub should be installed nowhere because, if as advertised,
Wubi should run inside Windows and if someone wishes to remove it they
should be able to do so without even recovering the Win MBR!

My real problem is that we can't get any dev activity on this at
all!!!!!!!!!

This is IMO the worst bug I've seen in Ubuntu since I began about 2 1/2
years ago!!!!!!!

Hardly a day goes by that we don't see this even though Lucid was
released weeks ago, and there's always an uptick during the
weekends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just plain STUPID, we've turned the upgrade (and even update)
process into a freakin' nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel I've done everything humanly possible to gain some attention but,
for the first time, I honestly feel like the Ubuntu development and
"bug-fixing" process is totally
BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, other than this, grub 2 has improved one heck of a lot.

Why can't we get this
fixed???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I even fumed at Ayatana, come on
devs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're in dire straits here!
