Is there a document online, beyond this bug, that discusses where the kernel team's support goals differ from the distribution itself? IMO, a 6 month support schedule for the kernel adversely affects the reputation of a release with the LTS monicker. Note that I understand that managing kernel packages for Ubuntu is an incredibly complex task and this bug isn't doing you any favors, but I think that if you're going to hedge your bets so to speak on the support duration, "LTS" should be qualified in some way.
