I too am encountering this problem for ubuntu-10.04-server-amd64.iso. The odd thing is that I was able to install ubuntu fine without ANY problems using the same computer, same ISO image, same DVD drive and same physical CD just a week ago. (I had to re-install from scratch because of a failed hard-drive).
