Binary package hint: notify-osd
PROBLEM
When I get a new mail message in Evolution, the messaging applet will
turn green to indicate that, but it's often awhile before Notify-OSD
lets me know I have a mail message (if it tells me at all). I have to
click the applet to see why it's green, instead of just going straight
to Evolution.
HOW TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Evolution as your default mail client.
2. Have someone send you an email.
If this bug is performance-related, it may be affected by the number of
programs you have open. And since it's a problem with Evolution's
interaction with Notify-OSD, the problem may lay with Evolution.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Notify-OSD will always let me know when I have a new mail message,
except in cases (like full-screen mode) when it's not supposed to.
