Okay, I burned a copy of the latest 10.10 ISO and ran it as a live CD. While operating under that environment, I was able to insert a CD into my secondary CD/DVD drive and have it recognized perfectly. I could play music off the CD, and it worked just like it should. Ejected and re-inserted the music CD several times and it worked great. So whatever you guys have changed in 10.10 seems to fix this issue.
I went back into 10.04 and ran the command requested for debug info. I also installed what I think is the latest "upstream kernel", but I really wasn't clear on the instructions so I'm not sure if I did that correctly. I downloaded the most recent image under the Lucid directory (2.6.32-0206321505-generic_i386.deb) and installed it, then rebooted under that and the problem persisted without changes. ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing -- CD and DVD media fail to mount https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/591243 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
