Almost certainly regression with network manager (which appears to be part of gnome-system-tools), possible / probably duplicate of bug #78037 ... but this problem is all over the IRC channels ... hang out in #ubuntu+1 for 10-20min and you'll see 1 or 2 people's whose wlan0's have suddently stopped working and are trying to resolve. Once I can get back to the laptop, I'll dump around /var/log/syslog, which looks like it has a whole bunch more data that would be good to report.
