I confirm this but on notebook dv9000. When touchpad is on/off after gdm session, keyboard stop responding, but not freeze because CTRL+ALT+F1, CTRL+ALT+F2,CTRL+ALT+F3,...,CTRL+ALT+F12 and CTRL+ALT+DEL work as well.
If I go to the terminal with CTRL+ALT+F1 and come back to gnome session with CTRL+ALT+F7 then keyboard does work again.
