Hi,

The missing default software site was fixed in 3.5.2-1 which is already
in Lucid and Maverick (see below). It has also been backported to
Karmic. I believe it was in fact fixed before in Ubuntu, since Ubuntu
saw some pre-releases of the Debian eclipse package.

The reason why you do not have the update site is probably that you had
installed and run eclipse before we fixed this problem and our fix is
not retroactive.

I am closing this as "fix released" because I read the bug as a request
to add the update site by default. If you still have this issue after
adding the update site, please write back with the exact dependency
error and we will have a look at it.
