Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
ever since Dapper, video is displayed improperly on my second monitor in
a dual-monitor set-up. the second monitor is my TV.. running through
S-Video from my ATI Radeon 9600XT.. it worked in dapper, but does not
any longer in edgy and does not in feisty. any video, even after proper
codecs installed, displays with the y-axis stretched too far.. passed
the bottom of the video area in fact.. so everything is stretched
vertically and the bottom portion is not visible. in Dapper, in fact, I
had the same problem with the linux-generic (i386) kernel installed by
default, so I installed the linux-k7 flavor and it fixed the problem (i
have an amd k7 processor, now grouped into linux-generic)
if it matters, i set up the dual-head configuration using the aticonfig tool:
aticonfig --initial=dual-head
aticonfig --overlay-type=Xv
this was done directly on a clean install of feisty, and in fact i had
tried this on edgy also, but decided against it in the end so i could
get the video support i have in Dapper on the second monitor
** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
