How is it possible that so critical bug is still not solved, after over two 
years? It's not even assigned to anyone! And off course not marked as citical!
In such moments, I think opensource sucks. Sorry for my honesty, but this is 
true. I really like Ubuntu, but I cannot recommend it to any of my 
not-linux-guru friends, because WiFi simply doesn't work. Doesn't is critical 
bug???

My laptop:
HP Compaq nx7300, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG, Ubuntu 10.04

For me the only solution that works is:
sudo apt-get remove network-manager
sudo apt-get install wicd
