Public bug reported:
Having installed Ubuntu 10.04, things work fine for the original user
(adminstrator).
But when I add a new user, and that user logs in, after entering the password,
is faced
with a screen containing the pink/purple pattern, but no panel top or bottom,
and although
the mouse pointer is there and moves, clicking the mouse buttons has no result.
The problem applies only to new users added since the original
installation.
