Binary package hint: usplash
The splashscreen looks fine on startup, but on shutdown, it's distorted (you
can still see the splashscreen, but it looks like the ubuntu is written twice,
above each other).
The system uses fglrx and cryptsetup (i.e., the splash gets deactivated during
startup) on an IBM T60.
