I'm sorry I was a bit abrupt in my report. I am really nervous about having experimental or half-finished stuff in trunk. During the Lucid cycle we were fortunate to get a User Interface freeze exception to remove remnants of the ratings feature, which had been developed in trunk but was not finished in time. I don't want that kind of situation to ever happen again.
So, I would much prefer all the implementation of buy-something be taking place in a branch. Then any associated developer-only menu items could be on by default in that branch, rather than off by default in trunk.
