I ran the command specified by Mitch(thank you). It failed the first
time...and then worked the second time I did it.  I also switched my
software server to USA server and it refreshed the list correctly....I
then switched the server back to main...and it appears to be working
correctly...meaning that it is now building the dependency tree
correctly.

The updates did fail on the generic linux kernal. I just skipped them.
