I am closing all the windows and then go to the shut down option in the drop down box on the upper right hand corner. I click the shut down in the verify box. Then the system just restarts and asks for password. After I type in password, it goes to desktop. This doesn't happen all the time, just some times.
I have had to use sudo poweroff in the terminal to get it to shut down. As for plymouth: I just followed some links to report a bug. I am new to Ubunto and I didn't know what plymouth was.
