Public bug reported: This may be the wrong place to report but anyway...
Ubuntu 10.04 64bit was working perfectly until I got updates for the proprietary Nvidia driver. It got updated to version: 195.36.24-0ubuntu1~10.04 I rebooted and Ubuntu stalled at the loading screen. I did a fresh install and installed the same driver straight away... it stalled at the same point. I think this should be fixed really soon as this Nvidia update could be breaking many peoples Ubuntu installs. Its very frustrating to see something pushed out which may not have received enough testing! I have Ubuntu back up and running however without 3D functionality/the proprietary driver. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Latest Nvidia driver causes bootup to freeze https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/594619 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
