Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

Everything worked on my hp nc6400 in 10.04 Lucid kernel 2.6.31.20 or
earlier. (I also went back to Karmic 9.10 and 9.04 and found zero
issues-EVERYTHING WORKS!)

2.6.32-22 has caused the suspend and hibernate to "break" for me
2.6.32-23 did not make any difference, still broken

When I boot into 2.6.32-22 or later and close the lid on nc6400,
nothing happens (settings in power management set to suspend). System is
instantly accessible to whoever opens.

When I boot into 10.04 2.6.31.20 or earlier (including Karmic 9.10 or
9.04) and close lid system suspends (or hibernates if selected in
prefs-power management) as expected. Upon resume system is locked (if
selected in prefs-power management) as expected

This is a security issue as anyone opening lid to our systems has
complete access
