When considering the importance of this bug, keep in mind that this
renders most Windows applications involving audio CDs useless.  I have
two such applications.

For the benefit of newbies like myself who are reading this, here are
some details on the workaround above: The fstab file mentioned above is
at /etc/fstab.  Information about this file can be found at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Fstab.  I don't yet know how to create
an entry for the CD/DVD drive or how to mount it, but when I do (after
reading that documentation and playing with it), I'll add a post to this
bug report.  If someone is reading this who knows what to add and how to
mount it, please add a post below.
