This is one of the more frequently asked for features/improvements. At the last
UDS there was a session on improving the user experience of the Ubuntu One
control panel. Additionally their are plans to increase the amount of U1
information available in Nautilus. Maverick should see a great improvement in
this area. I will assign this bug to the UI folks so they can consider your
input.
In the meantime there are a few ways to get more information. The
command line (Terminal) can help, with these commands:
u1sdtool --waiting-metadata | wc -l
u1sdtool --waiting-content | wc -l
u1sdtool --current-transfers
These will give you the number of items waiting to sync. If you take of
the '| wc -l' you will get details about each item. There is a new tool
available for developers and advanced users. It is called Maigicicada.
It is a GUI for the syncdaemon. To install:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chicharreros/ppa; sudo apt-get install
magicicada
