Not all drivers use /dev/sd* yet. If you're seeing /media/hd*, then the
kernel is using /dev/hd* for your disks, presumably for good reasons
(e.g. libata doesn't work properly for you yet). Ubiquity won't use
/media/hd* if the disk is /dev/sd*.
