Sorry guys, I am a bloody old fool. There is no bug.
I had left the "search" feature turned on from a few days earlier, &
didn't notice that the next time that I looked at trash.
I must say, I was additionally sucked-in, because I had read a bug a
while ago that had the symptoms which I thought that I was experiencing.
Not long ago, I had also had problems with sync getting unsynced, so no
deletions were occurring. I was nervous about that "fix" of deleting
files.
By the way, it is not easy to to report a bug.
If I click on Evolution -> Help -> Submit Bug Report, I get the message:
"Bug buddy is not installed". Does that mean that this function is
disabled, or that I should download something?
I did read the wiki in an attempt to understand what to do. From that I
ran something (perhaps it was "ubuntu-bug"), which collected various
bits of info, & then put me on to a wiki, but clicking "submit a bug"
seemed to put me in a bit of a repetitive loop. I think that the info
was lost during this activity.
I mistakenly thought that apport only worked when there was an actual
failure. I can now see that it collects information regardless, so I
will make a note to use "ubuntu-bug" if I have any further issues.
Regards, Garry.
