Public bug reported:
When gnome-control-center is loaded in current Feisty, either under a
gnome-session, or by a gnome-app in other sessions, keyboard repetitions
stop working.
To reproduce:
1. Login from GDM to a twm session.
2. Open an xterm
3. Verify keyboard repetition working.
4. Start gnome-settings-daemon
5. Keyboard repetition is no more.
Other things I've noted:
* All works fine, as long as i don't touch gnome-settings daemon, even
gnome-terminal. Starting Rhythmbox, however, breaks everything. The effect last
until the x-server is restarted.
* Trying to solve the problem by re-enabling repetition either by "xset c on"
or the equivalent from gnome-control-center, results in all keyboard events
being repeated exactly twice, immediately on key-down. No more, no less.
** Affects: control-center (Ubuntu)
