Don't worry, no hard feelings. I hesitate in asking anyone to install
new software just to test a bug. If you do find that seamonkey doesn't
experience this issue could you please try using a new profile? You do
not need to delete your old profile to test. If a new profile helps, you
might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one
by one until you find the problematic one. To disable extensions, Tools
> Add-ons >  Find the extension > Highlight and click 'Disable' >
Restart Firefox

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

Also, updated logs for your current lucid install could prove helpful.
You can add them by inputting 'apport-collect 571035' in the terminal.
