Hi. I've got exactly the same problem, but I don't think this is limited to Ubuntu. I'm running 10.04 now, but had the RC of Windows 7 running previously, and that had the same issues...as you point out, it seems to occur mainly (although not exclusively) when large files are being transferred. We have two Aspire Ones in the house, the other machine has the original custom OS installed, and doesn't seem to suffer from this problem, so wondering if it's an issue with a proprietary driver or something?
