Public bug reported:

I'm using Lucid on a June 2009 MacBook Pro.

I have the CPU scaling monitor applet in my gnome bar. Every time I
restart the machine, it goes back to the "Performance" scaling regime.
This is probably not a very good idea for a laptop; possibly not for a
desktop machine either.

Perhaps this is a setting I can change somewhere. I looked under Power
Management, among other places, but failed to find anything there.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
