- Apply all updates using the Update Manager

Did not help.

- Set grayscale mode in the printer options

There are two different options for this. (?) I only tried one of them
(300dpi, grayscale, black cartridge) and it did not work. But currently
the printer is not available for me.

- Remove the empty color cartridge

If I do this, I can't use the all-in-one device for anything. Neither
scanning or printing, the device is blocked. But this is no hplip or
ubuntu related bug.

- Put in a full color cartridge

I'll try it, but I have to wait until the ordered cartridge comes.
