The problem was linked to a problem in package gnome-keyring. I solved my problem by downgrading gnome-keyring from "2.30.1-0ubuntu2" to "2.30.0-0ubuntu3".
Downgrading gnome-keyring also solved some problems with network-manager (also freezing) and empathy (unaccessible accounts). As far as I am concerned this bug can be closed.
