** Description changed: This is a bug to follow up on a question[1] on why, after three releases and one alpha, an Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor 800MHz is still running at 571Mhz and is not doing proper cpu stepping when needed. I have tested this in Gutsy, Hardy and Intrepid, and now in Jaunty Alpha 3. They all treat the CPU as 571Mhz. In Gutsy there was a workaround using a script by a user named "ricey". I do not want to rely on user scripts and I would think that by now this issue would be resolved. Is there a possibility we can try to resolve this issue for the Jaunty release.
