This happens on all lucid computers, both upgraded and fresh installs. Strangely this is not a problem on my computer, which has English as default language. This is a major show stopper for newly converted users. I have convinced a lot of non-tech people to ditch Windows in favor of Ubuntu recently, but since the included msn client is really really really lousy, amsn seems to be the best option.
